Series history: Dayton leads 16-9. Last season, Dayton won 85-84 in Richmond and beat the Spiders 69-54 in the Atlantic 10 tournament quarterfinals. Richmond has lost three straight games at UD Arena. It is 1-11 in Dayton. Its only victory came in 2011.

Coaches: Dayton's Archie Miller is 128-59 in his sixth season. Richmond's Chris Mooney is 213-168 in his 12th season.

About Dayton: Senior guard Kyle Davis likely will be a game-time decision, Miller said Tuesday. He sprained his ankle Saturday in a 76-57 victory at Duquesne. Davis has played in Dayton's last 93 games. He hasn't missed a game since his freshman season. … Dayton is 12-0 when it shoots better than 40 percent from the field. It is 10-0 when leading at halftime. … Dayton has won 40 of its last 51 regular-season A-10 games. … Dayton's senior class has 91 victories. It is six away from tying the school record for wins by a class. … Smith ranks 38th in school history with 1,067 points. He passed Dave Colbert, Monty Scott, Bobby Joe Hooper and Derrick Dukes last week. Pollard ranks 50th with 945 points.

About Richmond: The Spiders are 5-0 in conference play for the first time since 1988-89 when they played in the Colonial Athletic Association. They are the fifth team to start 5-0 in the A-10 in the last 10 years. … Richmond and Dayton are tied for the most A-10 wins (91) in the last nine seasons. … Jones ranks 23rd in school history with 1,307 points. Cline ranks 24th with 1,301. … Grant Golden, a 6-9 freshman, has not played since collapsing in a game against Texas Tech on Dec. 17. He underwent a cardiac procedure, and no timetable has been set for his return. … Marshall Wood, a 6-8 senior forward, missed four games with mono. He returned to action Saturday and played three minutes in a 70-66 victory at St. Joseph's.
