Finnegan returns from DL, leaves game early with injury

First start since April 15 cut short after three innings

The Cincinnati Reds made three roster moves Monday before a makeup game against the Cardinals in St. Louis.

• The Reds reinstated from the 60-day disabled list pitcher Brandon Finnegan. He started against the Cardinals but left the game with an apparent injury in the fourth inning after being visited on the mound by the training staff.

Finnegan allowed three earned runs on three hits in three innings. He walked four batters. Finnegan, who was on the DL with a shoulder injury, was 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA in three rehab starts in the minor leagues. This was first start for the Reds since April 15.

• The Reds moved pitcher Bronson Arroyo to the 60-day disabled list. Arroyo went on the 10-day DL on June 19, one day after he admitted his shoulder had been bothering him most of the season.
