“Rod Carew is very sorry as he was really looking forward to appearing at the Dayton Heart Institute. He apologizes for any inconvenience his absence may have caused.”
Foster will talk about his career with the Reds and be joined by legendary Dayton Daily News sports writer Hal McCoy, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002. Foster, a key member of the Big Red Machine team that won back-to-back World Series titles in 1975-76, was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 2003. A five-time All-Star, Foster was the National League MVP in 1977.
Tickets sold for the Rod Carew event will be honored this evening. Tickets will also be available at the door and are $10. All ticket proceeds will benefit The Heart Institute of Dayton, a non-profit institution dedicated to cardiovascular education.
