Reports: Springfield’s Adam Eaton traded to Washington Nationals

Springfield native and former Miami University outfielder Adam Eaton has been traded by the Chicago White Sox to the Washington Nationals, pending a physical, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Eaton, a 2007 Kenton Ridge High School graduate, hit .284 with 14 home runs last season in Chicago. It was his third season with the White Sox and his fifth in the big leagues. He played his first two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Eaton, 28, played center field for most of his career but moved to right field last season and was a finalist for the Gold Glove.
