H.S Results for 3/28: Covington plows through Mississinawa Valley

In an absolute stunner of a game, the Covington Varisty softball team beat Mississinawa Valley by a whopping 20 runs, winning 22-2.

Kenzie Long drove in five runs on three hits in the win for Covington.

Makenna Gostomsky, Lexie Long, Emma Daymer, Ashley Cecil and Justice Warner all amassed hits throughout the course of the game, each contributing to Covington’s victory.

Covington had 22 runs on 21 hits with one error, while Mississinawa Valley only managed two runs on three hits with four errors.

Fairfield 11: Lakota East 0: Kurt Lange pitched a complete shutout for Fairfield, allowing only two hits. Noah Baum chipped in two runs, going 2-for-3, while Andrew Sams went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI. Kaleb Ford was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs and Will Kramer had a double and three RBIs.

Ross 10, Landmark Christian 0: Logan Fuller was the winning pitcher for Ross. Tyler Flick went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIS, Zach Arno also went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, while Andrew Beebe and Drew Huffman chipped in two RBIs each.

Southeastern 2, Cedarville 0: T. King and A. Lyons both went 1-for-2 with one run a piece for Southeastern to secure their victory. G. Hunter and G. Cassell each contributed an RBI for Southeastern. Dahl, Pollander, Cross and Lewis each had a hit for Cedarville.

Fairborn 3, Woodridge 1: Jon Fields was the starting pitcher for Fairborn, but it was relief pitcher Luke Crowley that earned the save for Fairborn. Will Coleman went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Fairborn.

Softball

Coldwater 6, Fort Loramie 1: Post went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI and D. Welsch went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in Coldwater’s victory. A. Holthaus had the lone run for Fort Loramie., while C. Albers chipped in two hits and the lone RBI.

Miamisburg 7, Piqua 1: Carina Butler went 2-for-3 for Miamisburg in their win. Teammate Erin Teaney chipped in a double, while Ashley Haas had a double and two RBIs.

Fairfield 2, Sycamore 1: Taylor Delk was the winning pitcher for Fairfield with 11 strikeouts on the night. Rhiana Hubbard went 2-for-3 with one RBI for Fairfield in their victory. Jessica Fehr went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Sycamore.

Wapakoneta 6, West Liberty-Salem 1: Fisher was the winning pitcher for Wapakoneta. K. Cox went 2-for-4 and M. Stratton went 2-for-3 in the loss for West Liberty-Salem. K. Day also had a triple for West Liberty-Salem.

Lebanon 11, Wayne 0: Lebanon pitcher Taylor Lewis had a shutout in a five inning game. Chloe Allen went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Grace Gressly went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Lebanon in their win.

Boy’s Tennis

Beavercreek 4, Legacy Christian 1: John Liu, Hari Paremeswaran (singles), Jacob Jones/Ethan Aya and Manav Beniubl/Tashar Beniubl (doubles) all notched wins for Beavercreek. Ethan Croucher had the lone singles win for Legacy Christian.

Greenville 5, Stebbins 0: Haupt, Manges, Leigeber (singles), Grote/Smith and Lobenstein/Day all recorded wins in Greenville’s sweep of Stebbins.

Sidney 3, Urbana 2: Prem Dev and Daichi Urata both won their singles matches for Sidney. The doubles team of Michael Ferre/Logan Searcey secured the win for Sidney with their victory.

Valley View 5, Carlisle 0: Justin DeVilbiss, Chase Midkiff, Ian Barnett (singles), Ben Holbrook/Ben Lewan and Michael Fischer/Carter Nolte (doubles) all emerged victorious for Valley View in their sweep.

Northwestern 4, Kenton Ridge 1: Cody North, Nathan Wildofsky (singles), Jaer Glass/Luke Maey and Noah Limes/Liam Randall all notched wins for Northwestern. Nick Shonkwiler had the lone singles win for Kenton Ridge.

Alter 5, McNicholas 0: Adam White, Aiden Faessler, Austin Schockman (singles), Robby Ruffolo/Scott McHenry and Johathan McHenry/Keenan Callejo all won their matches in Alter’s sweep.

Fairmont 3, Oakwood 2: Nawaz, Hass (singles) and Jagu/Juhasz (doubles) had the three match wins that won it for Fairmont. Toussaint (singles) and Boyce/Connally (doubles) each had wins for Oakwood.

Valley View 5, Fairborn 0: Noah Devillez, Skyler Hamm, Lane Powell (singles), Ben Johnson/ Dustin Abner and Adam Michael/Dawson Hamm (doubles) all won their matches in Valley View’s sweep of Fairborn.

Bishop Fenwick 5, Carroll 0: Sagan, Page, Erhart (singles), Payne/Short and Braun/Colley (doubles) all won their matches to sweep Carroll in the series.

Tecumseh 5, Bellefontaine 0: Mitchell Folland, Michael Green, Jonathan Siroin (singles), Christian Hunt/Johan Goksor and Jacob Lewis/Scot Sinkhorn (doubles) all recorded wins in Tecumseh’s sweep victory.
