HS Roundup 1/29: Centerville takes down Tecumseh


Jasmine Broner and Meghan Mattingly put up 12 points apiece to lead Centerville in a 58-41 victory against Tecumseh in girls basketball on Monday.

Amy Velasco tacked on 10 to help Centerville win its seventh straight contest.

Presley Griffitts tallied 15 and Corinne Thomas 12 for Tecumseh.

Girls Basketball

Springfield 74, Northwestern 34: Mickayla Perdue paced Springfield with 25 points and 11 assists. Caralyssa Byrd tacked on 14 points, Destiny Wells 12 and Makayla DeArmond 10.

Lebanon 52, Fairfield 49: Alexis Straw led Lebanon with 21 points, Kendall Folley added 13 and Eva White 12 points with 10 rebounds. Zahrya Bailey netted 17 for Fairfield.

Troy 32, Bethel 28: Alaura Holycross totaled 12 points with 10 rebounds and Tia Bass tacked on eight points with 11 rebounds for Troy.

Kenton Ridge 79, Greenon 57: Mikala Morris poured in 29 points and Mallory Armentrout tacked on 16 for KR. Sierra Potter paced Greenon with 19.

Ben Logan 86, Graham 40: Katelyn Nash tallied 16 points in a losing effort for Graham.

Valley View 52, West Carrollton 22: Hunter Stidham had 23 points and Chloe Smith 10 for Valley View.

Bellbrook 50, Miamisburg 36: Kayla Paul put up 16 points and Siera Ferguson added 14 for Bellbrook. Alex Sperry led ‘Burg with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Northridge 40, Middletown Christian 35: Northridge picked up a second win on the season.

Milton-Union 56, Tri-County North 37: Beyonce Bobbitt put up 18 points with 13 rebounds and Kristen Dickison added 12 points with nine boards for MU.

Badin 54, Wyoming 28: Emma Broermann led 10 Badin players in scoring with 16 points.

Newton 54, Houston 46: Tatum McBride poured in 27 points, Anna Wolfe added 18 and Houston Monnier 16 for Newton.

Greeneview 83, Miami Valley 33: Frankie Fife finished with 25 points and Sylvie Sonneman 14 for Greeneview.

Triad 61, Bellefontaine 47: Emma Vanninen totaled 10 of her 17 points in the final quarter, where Triad exploded for 30 points.

Legacy Christian 73, Northeastern 34: Emma Hess four players in double-digit scoring for Legacy with 20 points. Hayley Suchland netted 25 for Northeastern.

Boys Basketball

Valley View 70, Eaton 68: Cade Cradlebaugh sunk a layup at the buzzer to give Valley View the edge. Ben Herman led the way with 17 points and Clayton Erbaugh added 16. James Howard had 25 for Eaton.

Meadowdale 82, Ponitz 79: Damonte Bailey put up 17 points for Ponitz in a losing effort.

St. Henry 53, Minster 38: Ryan Luttmer, Zach Niekamp and Devin Huelskamp each scored 11 points for St. Henry.
