HS Roundup 2/10: Fairmont girls edge out Beavercreek, Westbeld nets 15

The Fairmont girls basketball team edged out GWOC foe Beavercreek, 44-39.

Led by Madeline Westbeld with 15 points and Mali Morgan-Elliott with 14, Fairmont shutout Beavercreek in the second quarter to help secure the win.

Carmen Williams sunk 11 points for Beavercreek.

Alyssa Hall and Michaela Rhoades tacked on nine each in the loss.

Boys Basketball

Fairborn 72, Tippecanoe 70: K.J. Redmon netted 30 points for Fairborn in the win. Caiden Smith added 16 to his season total for Tipp.

Lebanon 60, Kings 50: Harrison Hookfin recorded 26 points, six rebound and two blocks in the win. Brendan Lamb added on 18.

Col. Beechcroft 61, Belmont 60: Jeff Hunt recorded 14 points in the losing effort. Phillip Harewood tacked on 13.

Dunbar 65, Springboro 57: Garrett Powell netted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Thurgood Marshall 75, West Carrollton 52: Travis Person netted 18 points to lead all scorers in the win. Jalen Sanders recorded 13 in the losing effort.

Clinton-Massie 55, Bellbrook 46: Donnie Crouch led with 12 points in the losing effort.

Dixie 63, Tri County North 61: Devin Worley netted 32 points for Dixie, after putting up 31 on Tuesday to lead in the win. Dillon McCullough tallied 19 in the win.

Preble Shawnee 66, Arcanum 47: Austin Moore tallied 18 points in the win. Carter Gray had 12 in the loss.

Valley View 70, Waynesville 67, OT: Ben Herman shot for 27 points in the overtime victory. Alex Hurley countered with 20 in the loss.

Dayton Christian 66, Yellow Springs 55: Anton Webb recorded a double-double for DC with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Matt Welker tacked on 16. James Browning led all scorers with 21 points for Yellow Springs.

Spg. Shawnee 51, Greenon 37: Aaron Schack recorded 18 points in the win. Cade Rice had nine for Greenon.

Miami East 41, Lehman Catholic 38: Austin Rutledge led Miami East with 10 points in its win. Kameron Lee tallied a game-high 17 for LC.

Botkins 46, Goshen 39: Spencer Heuker put up 14 points in the Botkins victory. Conner Smock tacked on 10 and Zane Paul seven.

Coldwater 59, Tri-Village 43: Marcus Bruns led all scorers with 17 points in the win. Mitch Balster tacked on nine.

New Bremen 62, Fort Jennings 59, OT: Caleb Alig led with 18 points for New Bremen in their OT victory. Grant Hoehne tacked on 14.

St. Henry 60, Van Wert 42: Tyler Schlarman scored 16 points in the St. Henry victory.

St. Marys 49, Minster 45: Braden Dunlap put up 17 points in the win. Mike Ketner tallied 13 in the loss.

Girls Basketball

Centerville 56, Wayne 52: Meghan Mattingly led all scorers with 19 points for Centerville. Aubryanna Hall put up 18 points in the losing effort.

Fairborn 50, Xenia 12: Evelyn Oktavec and Khala Powell combined for 26 points in the win. Fairborn shut out Xenia in the fourth quarter.

Miamisburg 50, Northmont 40: Abby Carter led all scorers with 18 points in the senior night victory.

Trotwood 69, Springfield 45: Shai McGruder netted 19 points in the win, while Shamaya Leigh tacked on 17. Mickayla Perdue added 21 points to her season total in the loss.

Troy 48, Piqua 37: Jordan Short put up 14 points to lead in the win. Tia Bass and Alaura Holycross both tacked on double-doubles with 13 points and 12 rebounds and 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Tylan Yeomans recorded 14 points in the loss.

Fairfield 55, Colerain 19: Kelis Jones tallied nine points in the win.

Hamilton 54, Lakota East 49: CiCi Riggins added 27 points to her season total in the win. Danni Stoughton and Jordan Stanley each tallied 14 points in the loss.

Sycamore 57, Middletown 41: Sa’Mill Calhoun and Aubriana Bellard combined for 24 points in the loss. Bellard added on the double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Meadowdale 45, Jefferson 20: Ilea Bradfield netted 24 points for Meadowdale in the win.

Ross 38, Talawanda 29: Julia Nunn led Ross with 12 points in its fourth win of the season. Addie Brown tacked 13 points onto her season total in the loss.

Eaton 57, National Trail 38: Makena Laird had 11 points in the Trail loss.

Catholic Central 59, Madison Plains 25: Abbigail Peterson and Jenna Skeens combined for 36 points for Central.

Mechanicsburg 48, Fairbanks 32: Kasey Schipfer led all scorers with 16 points for ‘Burg in the win. Bella Rowland netted eight for Fairbanks.

Northeastern 67, Triad 61: Hayley Suchland tallied 41 of Northeastern’s 67 points in the OHC victory. Emma Vanninen’s double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds led Triad.

Miami East 48, Northwestern 21: Morgan Haney put up 12 points in the win. Miranda Gillman had six in the loss.

Newton 71, Graham 30: Tatum McBride led all scorers with 25 points in the win. Brooke Johannes netted 13 in the loss.

Fort Recovery 45, Tri-Village 40: Grace Thien tallied 17 points in the Fort Recovery victory. Maddie Downing put up 13 in the losing effort.

Minster 67, St. Marys 40: Courtney Prenger recorded 22 points in the win for Minster. Syd Cisco had 18 in the loss for St. Marys.

Versailles 60, Jackson Center 22: Kami McEldowney tied the school record for 3-pointers in a game with seven, shooting for 23 points overall in the win.

Wrestling

All North Tournament: Coldwater placed seventh overall out of 16 teams. Seth Obringer finished second in his weight class for Coldwater.

Steve Shinkle Invitational: Madison placed fifth out of 22 teams with 135.0 points. Drew Price finished first at 138 and Zach Banks at 195 for Madison, while Sean Mondello took first at 160 for Talawanda.

Gymnastics

Northmont Invitational: Miamisburg took home first place, scoring 137 points to lead the way. Ashley Statzer tied for third on beam, while Leah Myers finished fourth overall.
