The Dibbles have a day

Twitter check up: former Reds reliever and his family saw the end of an era, and no, it wasn’t nasty

Rob Dibble and his family appear to have had a momentous day, or at least it looks that way when checking up on the former Reds reliever on Twitter.

Judging from his posts, and those of his wife, one of their children just wrapped up kindergarten. As you can in her Twitter post, Mom sort of wrestled with the occasion:

The dutiful dad, whom the Reds drafted in the first round out of Bridgeport, Conn., in 1983, is now in radio, helming “The Rob Dibble Show,” on stations in Hartford and New Haven, Conn. He chimed in, again on Twitter:

In his days throwing gas for the Reds, Brewers and White Sox from 1988-’95, Dibble made a headline or two for, well, plunking the occasional batter or baserunner with the ball and, um scrapping with former Reds manager Lou Piniella.

There are no signs that his competitive fire has worn off on his better half:

Dibble, who has dabbled in media mostly via radio (his late father, Walt, entered the Connecticut Journalism Hall of Fame after a decades-long career in radio news ), appears to have softened as well:
