The trip back to his home state wasn’t a total loss for deWeaver, though.
He found a minute to catch up with former teammate Robert Landers when the game was over.
One of the top quarterback prospects in the country in the class of 2016, deWeaver threw for 2,924 yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior at Wayne.
The Warriors advanced to the Division I state championship game, where they lost to Lakewood St. Edward.
He started his career at Trotwood-Madison, where he was part of three more deep playoff runs.
