Wayne’s Isaiah Trice signs with Sinclair CC

Wayne High School senior Isaiah Trice, the younger brother of former Warriors standouts Travis and D’Mitrik Trice, has signed to played basketball at Sinclair Community College.

He’s the latest Trice to take his game to the next level. Travis (Michigan State) was reclaimed by the Westchester Knicks of the NBA’s Developmental League in February. D’Mitrik was a key sub at Wisconsin last season as a freshman.

Playing for his father, coach Travis Trice, Isaiah averaged 10.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals a game as a senior at Wayne (15-9). The 6-foot-2 guard/forward was second team All-GWOC.

“Ultimately, my goal is to play Division I basketball,” Trice said in a statement through Sinclair. “Already being a NCAA qualifier takes that pressure off of me. I just need to focus on getting better and I believe with my improving work ethic and Coach (Jeff) Price’s guidance I will get there.”

Another Trice sibling, Olivia Trice, is a two-year starter on the Wayne girls basketball team. The 5-8 sophomore guard has been a key player for the Warriors, who posted records of 20-5, and 25-2 the last two seasons.

Sinclair annually has been ranked among the nation’s top junior college programs in the nation. The Tartans were 22-10 last season.
