With training camp schedule set, putter extraordinaire Marvin Lewis & Larry The Cable Guy will return to day jobs

Marvin Lewis got in a little golf recently and made a heck of a putt in the American Century Championship, a celebrity tournament in Lake Tahoe, but the Bengals head coach will put the sticks away soon as the team is less than two weeks away from opening training camp.

Most practices will be free to the public on the fields west of Paul Brown Stadium, beginning  Friday, July 28 at 3 p.m. Gates will open at 2:30. You can check the entire camp schedule here:

Soon, there will be no time for high jinks on the links, link this long putt (with audio) over the weekend:

Looks like Lewis had a great time playing with the likes of former NFL quarterback Trent Green (@trentgreen10 ) and Larry the Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry):

Blandino blasts another bomb for Bats

Alex Blandino was promoted recently by the Reds from Class AA Pensacola to AAA Louisville, and the infielder has homered in back-to-back games. With the team’s 50th season approaching, the Bengals have been rolling out the top 50 retired players as voted on by fans and media, and this morning the top 10 came...

Chad Johnson impersonator jailed; Ocho Cinco may help "mentor” the man

Maybe we’d all like to be Chad Johnson for a day, but if you were actually going to pretend to be the former Bengals wide receiver, then maybe you should look a little more like him than the guy who got busted for trying to buy more than $18,000 worth of stuff while posing as Johnson. According to the Aspen (Colo.) Daily News Online: Mervin Cabe...

Sports Today: The bigger picture from Spielman vs. Ohio State

Ohio State loves its brand more than anything.  If you spend any time on campus in Columbus, that’s pretty clear.  They care about the athletes, some students and of course making money for the hospital, but nothing trumps The Ohio State University (TM).  And that appears to have gotten them in trouble again.  The fan reaction...

Reds’ Cozart on a tear as trade deadline nears

Eleven days remain until the Major League Baseball trade deadline. Zack Cozart is still the Cincinnati Reds shortstop. The question is: will he be a Red at 4 p.m. on July 31?  Cozart continues to perform as he has all season. The uncertainty hasn’t been a distraction. He went 4-for-6 with a home run, double and two RBIs on Wednesday in a ...
