Sanders, a U.S. Senator from Vermont, is running for the Democratic party nomination against former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley.
According to RealClearPolitics' composite of several polls, Sanders is garnering support from 32.6 percent of Democratic voters while Clinton leads the field with 54.2 percent. O'Malley has support from 2.4 percent.
Sanders has drawn huge crowds -- more than 20,000 last month in Boston -- to his rallies.
