Dayton Mayor Whaley supports Clinton plan

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley is among a group of mayors and former mayors endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's Economic Revitalization Initiative, the Clinton campaign announced on Feb. 15.

"As mayor of Dayton, I know how important it is to invest in every community, especially those communities that are too often left out and left behind," Whaley said in remarks released by the campaign. "To do that, we need a partner in the White House that has the record and the determination to deliver results."

Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State, is battling Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination.

Her plan seeks to "create good-paying jobs, rebuild crumbling infrastructure, and connect housing to opportunity in communities that are being left out and left behind," according to the campaign.

The plan is getting support from the mayors of Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco and Washington D.C., according to the news release.
