Dems promote Springfield woman to budget director

The Ohio Senate Democrats named Claire Linkhart of Springfield to be the budget and finance director.

Linkhart replaces Matt Howells, who took a government relations job with Honda of America.

“Claire has been a great asset to our caucus staff for several years and I am confident she will be an excellent Budget and Finance Director," said Senate Minority Leader Joe Schiavoni, D-Boardman. "She has always produced high quality work throughout her time with the Senate Democrats. There is no doubt that she will continue to impress in this new position much like Matt Howells did during his tenure as Finance Director."

Linkhart, an Akron native, has worked for the Senate for almost eight years. She lives in Springfield with her husband and daughter.
