Jordan gave his ticket to the conservative Family Research Council, which then gave its ticket to Davis. Asked about her reaction to President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union Tuesday night, she said simply, “It was a speech.” She told AFP reporter Ivan Couronne that she attended to encourage Christians who want to “make a difference.”
Jordan reportedly did not know that the ticket was to go to Davis until just before the speech.
"Kim Davis used our ticket," a Jordan spokesman said Tuesday. "Our staff heard from the Family Research Council that Ms. Davis and her family hoped to attend the State of the Union address and so we offered a ticket."
