November is a long way away, but a new poll from USA Today gave Ohio Governor John Kasich some good news today.

The poll shows that he could beat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by 11 points in November's election. The same poll shows Kasich beating Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by just 3.

The poll also shows that Sanders does better than Clinton against all Republicans.

One wake-up call in the poll is that it shows Republicans beating both Clinton and Sanders in most cases. The only case where the poll shows a Democrat winning is in a Sanders vs. Texas Sen. ted Cruz match up which shows Sanders beating Cruz 44-42 percent.

Of course, this is looking at popular votes. Just ask Al Gore about that.

The poll which was also done with Suffolk University also has some other highlights:

  • Sanders is catching up to Clinton nationwide. Poll shows it a 50-40 race.
  • Trump leads other Republicans nationally with 35%. Cruz is at 20, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is at 17. Kasich, former Gov. Jeb Bush and Ben Carson are in single digits.
  • Kasich does best 1-on-1 against Clinton. Poll shows him beating her 49-38%.
  • If GOP goes with Trump or Cruz, fall races will be tight. Poll shows Trump beats Clinton 45-43; Trump beats Sanders 44-43; Cruz beats Clinton 45-44 and Sanders beats Cruz 44-42.
