Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel's long-time top aide, Michael Lord, is leaving to start a consulting firm.

Lord has worked for Mandel since he was a state representative.

Mandel announced that he hired Kevin Benacci as his new chief of staff. Benacci currently serves as deputy chief of staff and communications director for U.S. Rep. David Joyce, R-Russell Twp.

"I'm grateful for Michael's years of counsel and service and thank him for all he's done for the office and Ohio taxpayers," Mandel said in a written statement. "As we continue to advance our goals of government transparency and fiscal responsibility, Kevin is a capable leader who will build upon the many successes of the Treasurer's office over the past five years."
