Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel and Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine both said they've never used marijuana but Ohio Auditor Dave Yost said he last smoked pot in 1978 while Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted said he last used it in 1989.
The four were responding to a question posed by a Dayton Daily News reporter question at a media session on Thursday.
In 1989, Husted was an All-American defensive back on the University of Dayton's Division III National Championship football team.
"When I said 1978, that was my best recollection," Yost said.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is running for the GOP nomination for president, has admitted in previous interviews that he has used marijuana.
Meanwhile, Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, R-Clarksville, said he has never used marijuana but House Minority Leader Fred Strahorn, D-Dayton, said he tried it in high school but didn't like it. Senate Minority Leader Joe Schiavoni, D-Austintown, said he used marijuana as a student at Ohio University.
Senate President Keith Faber, R-Celina, has said in previous interviews that he has never used marijuana.
