Vice President Joe Biden, who reportedly is considering entering the 2016 race for the Democratic presidential nomination, will speak Thursday in Columbus and Detroit.

Jack Torry in our Washington Bureau is reporting that Biden is expected to speak about sexual assault prevention during his visit to Columbus. The White House did not release any other details.

With his trips to Ohio and Michigan combined with a Labor Day appearance in Pittsburgh, Biden will have visited three of the crucial states in next year's presidential election.

On Thursday, Biden appeared on the new Late Show with Stephen Colbert and spoke about the recent death of his son, Beau.

A new CNN poll puts Biden at 20 percent nationally if he got in the Democratic race. Hillary Clinton is at 37, down 10 points from August, and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is at 27 points.

We'll bring you the details of Biden's visit to Columbus once we get them.
