3 business ‘legends’ to be honored in West Chester

West Chester -Liberty Chamber Alliance is set to bestow its annual Everest Award.

The West Chester -Liberty Chamber Alliance is set to bestow its annual Everest Award tonight on three leaders that have had “a positive impact on business, the community or quality of life along the Interstate 75 growth corridor between Cincinnati and Dayton,” according to chamber officials.

Honorees are:

Steve Behler, retired Kemba Credit Union CEO

John Danis, chairman and CEO of Danis Building Construction Company

Thomas Urban, Mercy Health-Fairfield Hospital president and CEO

The Everest Award is presented to “a person who has reached the heights of being a legend or leader through his or her actions, making a significant positive impact on business, the community and quality of life within the Interstate 75 Growth Corridor,” according to the chamber.

Keynote speaker at tonight’s event will be Jane Grote Abell, chairwoman of the board for Donatos Pizza.

Grote Abell was a catalyst behind the decision to purchase Donatos back from McDonald’s.

Following the buyback, she led the company through a $10.5 million turnaround. In 2015, she released her first book “The Missing Piece: Doing Business the Donatos Way.”
