5 changes happening at The Greene in Beavercreek


Shoppers can expect to see plenty of changes at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek this year.

New restaurants are expected to open soon while other stores have shut down in the center. Here’s what we’ve learned recently about one of the largest shopping centers in the region:

1. Women’s clothing retailer to open at Beavercreek shopping center

Dry Goods, a clothing brand for women owned by Von Maur, will open a new store at The Greene during the summer. Owned by department store chain Von Maur, Dry Goods is a “new generation of stores” created for young shoppers. The stores sell clothing, jewelry and accessories. READ MORE

3. Local retailer owes The Greene nearly $900K in rent, fees

A local retailer owes The Greene Town Center nearly $900,000 in past-due rent, other fees and court costs after defaulting on its five-year lease, a judge ruled last week. The Greene filed a lawsuit in Greene County Common Pleas Court against tenant Griffin & Co. Home Decor, known as RM Underdog Rising in September 2017. The complaint states the retailer defaulted on its five-year lease last year. READ MORE

4. Restaurant eviction may not be the slam dunk The Greene thought it was

Greene County Common Pleas Judge Michael Buckwalter ruled in December that the most recent owners of Choe’s Asian Gourmet restaurant at 4394 Juniper Way had violated their lease agreement with The Greene and awarded the retail center full access to the property. The action was taken after the restaurant’s operators failed to respond in a timely manner to the lawsuit, according to court documents. READ MORE

5. Store closes at The Greene in Beavercreek

Teavana has closed at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek. Starbucks, which owns and operates the Teavana brand, announced last year that it would close all 379 locations, due to “persistently underperforming” stores. All 379 stores will close within the coming year, with the majority closing by spring 2018. READ MORE
