While deposits have increased, banks have been shrinking their retail bank networks as consumers shift to online.

Fifth Third Bank lists 13 branches still in business in Dayton and the surrounding suburbs.

This also frees a prominent storefront in a busy retail strip near UD that is home to other shops and restaurants. Aaron Savino with real estate firm Miller-Valentine Group, who still represents the building owner in leasing, said they are looking for another tenant to fill the space.
