Great Wolf Lodge in Mason hiring for approximately 100 jobs

North America’s largest family of indoor water park resorts is hiring for its Mason location.

Great Wolf Lodge, which has locations stretching from Southern California to New England, employs 490 people in Mason.

It’s hiring approximately 100 new employees for a variety of positions ranging from lifeguards, waterpark attendants and housekeepers to restaurant servers, dishwashers, cooks and bussers.

Great Wolf offers six dining destinations, a spa, a 24-hour arcade, shopping, a Magiquest interactive adventure game and an indoor water park with slides and attractions for every age.

It also has daily activities outside of the waterpark such as story time, an interactive show, character meet and greets and crafts.

“We’re all about bringing joy to families with a fun, memorable and convenient experience,” said Jason Lasecki, director of corporate communications. “We’re a resort destination is completely self-contained with all of our marquee attractions located under one roof, including the massive indoor water park.

We asked Lasecki about hiring efforts at Great Wolf Lodge. Here’s what he had to say.

Q: What’s the biggest challenge facing Great Wolf and others in the industry and how is the company uniquely positioned to address that challenge?

A: “All employers now have to contend with record low unemployment levels, which makes it more challenging to attract and retain talent. What helps us stand out, besides our competitive compensation and benefits package, is Great Wolf Lodge is all about providing joy to our guests, and it really doesn’t feel like a job when you’re helping families have a great time. Additionally, all of our employees are known as pack members, because when you work for Great Wolf Lodge you are part of our family environment and you are welcomed as part of our pack.”

Q: What’s the most prevalent roadblock you encounter when it comes to hiring and what can job seekers do to remedy that situation?

A: “We pride ourselves on being a family focused organization, for not only our guests but our employees as well. Many job seekers today are looking for a flexible schedule and we are happy to provide that here. We have a variety of shifts available, in a fun and interactive environment, that is appealing to anyone looking for an enjoyable place to work.

Q: What’s the vision for the Great Wolf’s growth, both jobs and otherwise, for the next five years?

A: “As a company, we’re in the middle of a pretty remarkable period of expansion. In the last year, we opened three resorts: Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota, Great Wolf Lodge Georgia and Great Wolf Lodge Illinois. We have two additional resorts under construction with Great Wolf Lodge Arizona and Great Wolf Lodge Northern California. The growth of our company is going to create long-term career opportunities for those looking for a career in the hospitality industry.

Q: Some job seekers are concerned about the limits of advancement within a company. To what degree can your employees advance from entry-level roles to be promoted to greater positions within the company?

A: “Great Wolf Lodge has an Emerging Wolves Program that develops internal employees over a year, to learn more in depth about each department’s business function. It’s a way for internal employees to discover what areas may be of future interest to them for continued growth opportunities.”
