Here’s what’s happening at MillerCoors Trenton Brewery

The MillerCoors Trenton Brewery, located just outside the city in St. Clair Twp., produces more than 60 different beer brands and employs about 530 workers on an approximately 1,000-acre campus along Wayne Madison Road.

Here’s what’s happening at the local beer maker:

BIG ANNIVERSARY: In 2016, the Butler County brewery marks its 25th anniversary since operations began at the plant. During this anniversary year, expectations are that the brewery will produce almost 10 million barrels of beer under more than 60 brand names, which would be a production record, said Denise Quinn, plant manager and vice president of the Trenton brewery.

SUSTAINABILITY: Not only did the local brewery become the first MillerCoors brewery to achieve landfill-free status by 2011, other sustainability efforts include water conservation and energy reduction. Further, the plant continues to strive to become more efficient and reduce waste streams, Quinn said. These efforts include a switch from coal burning to natural gas-fired power for the facility.

SPECIAL PACKAGING: Miller Lite drinkers likely noticed the company produced the beer in limited edition packaging during the 2015 holiday season. First launched in 1975, the original Steinie bottle packaging was brought back last year for the special production run. The Trenton brewery was the sole producer of the bottle and shipped Miller Lite Steinie bottles across the country, Quinn said.
