Vandalia manufacturer to add 35 jobs, invest $33M

Inteva Products, LLC will invest $33 million in its Vandalia facility and add 35 new jobs to its current workforce of nearly 200, with a lease signing set for tomorrow, city officials said.

“Inteva looked at a number of locations in the state and in the country before ultimately deciding to keep its Vandalia operation in the same place it has been the last seven years,” Rich Hopkins, Vandalia spokesman, said in an email. “As you can tell from the attached release, this was a group effort to retain these jobs.”

“We’re very excited that Inteva Products is staying here in Vandalia,” Amber Holloway, Vandalia assistant city manager, said in a release on the company. “The company looked at a number of locations, and ultimately decided their best option was to build on the success of the past seven years and remain in Vandalia.”

Holloway said Montgomery County, JobsOhio, the Dayton Development Coalition and the city focused on helping Inteva find the resources it needed.

“Through the support of JobsOhio’s R&D grant program, Inteva Vandalia will invest in additional technologies to advance automotive interiors that align with industry advances in autonomy and drive experience,” said Julie Sullivan, Coalition executive vice president for regional development. “This project will add to the high-caliber engineering talent at the technical center, contributing to our region’s strong climate of manufacturing innovation.”

“We are excited Inteva chose Ohio for its new innovation center, which will boost its research and development capacity in Vandalia,” said Jonathan Bridges, JobsOhio director for automotive. “Inteva’s investment shows confidence in the Dayton region’s talent, which continues to lead advancements in the automotive industry.”

In the spring of 2017, Montgomery County approved a $70,000 grant through its Economic Development/Government Equity (ED/GE) program to help keep the company in Vandalia.

Inteva operates at 707 Crossroads Court. The company makes components for vehicle interiors there, from instrument panels, consoles, and door trim to cockpits and headliners.
