Indictment: Dayton woman conceals drugs in bra during jail booking

A 34-year-old Dayton woman is accused of trying to take drugs into the Montgomery County Jail.

Sparkle Walker was indicted Monday for illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility and possession of marijuana, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

According to a Dayton police report, Walker had drugs concealed in a clear plastic bag in her bra.

Walker was ordered to appear July 31 for an arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

FIRST REPORT

A Dayton woman was charged for attempting to carry contraband in her bra into the Montgomery County Jail after she was arrested for an unrelated incident Saturday, according to a police report.

Officers were dispatched to a resident in the 200 block of Basswood Avenue about 1:15 a.m. on a report of a domestic dispute, the report said. When police arrived the discovered that complainant Sparkle Walker, 34, had an outstanding warrant, and took her into custody.

Officers asked Walker multiple times if she had any contraband on her, and she said no, the report said. However, when she was being booked into jail, officers found a clear plastic bag containing a green substance in her bra, according to the report.

The substance, which weighed nearly 4 grams, was sent to the lab for testing, the report said.

Walker was charged with conveyance.
