What’s better than a dog to do a pig’s work?

The Dayton Convention and Visitors Bureau is hoping that a pooch they've dubbed "Rocky the Wonder Dog" helps win a national Instagram video contest hosted by HelmsBriscoe, a company that connects meeting and conference planners with hotels and convention bureaus.

Bev Rose, Dayton Convention and Visitors Bureau director of marketing, said bragging rights and exposure are up for grabs in the contest.

“Whichever destination gets the most likes (hearts) is the winner,” she said.

Her team tried to use Penelope, a local pig, as part of its video submission.

The pig was as adorable as a pig in a blanket,  but she didn’t deliver the bacon when it came to acting, Rose said.

Rocket, who is owned by Pamela Murn of the Dayton Dog Training Club, came to the rescue.
