Ohio is ranked number 15 in the nation in child hot car deaths, with 19 fatalities since 1994. The incident that occurred Saturday brings that total up to 20.
July is also the deadliest month for children dying in hot cars.
Hot car deaths continue to happen because no one believes it can happen to them. Please help raise awareness about these predictable and preventable tragedies, the release stated.
KidsAndCars.org is working hard to make sure the Hot Cars Act of 2017 can be passed quickly so technology will be added to vehicles to help prevent these unthinkable fatalities.
