Construction is underway for a new apartment building that is located just beyond the outfield at Fifth Third Field in downtown Dayton.
Centerfield Flats is a 112-unit, L-shaped building being constructed by Woodard Development and Crawford Hoying that will add to the hundreds of apartments and condos built downtown in the past few years. The five-story, modern brick design will include stadium seating in a community room for views of the ballpark.
The building will be about 120,000 square feet. Units will range in size, offering between 532-square-foot studios to 1,717-square-foot units with three bedrooms. Construction on the apartments is expected to take 12 to 13 months, with units opening in the summer of 2019.
