Clark County’s top state highway projects of 2018

Clark County motorists will likely encounter one of the region’s larger state highway construction projects later this summer when Ohio Department of Transportation contractors begin work on a $43 million Interstate 70 widening project.

ODOT will spend another $16.4 million on 10 other projects in Clark County this year.

Here are three more top Clark County projects and when they are scheduled to be completed:

Ohio 41, East of Springfield to Ridge Road; U.S. 68, Interstate 70 north to the county line 

Project description: Smooth seal resurfacing

Cost: $6.24 million

Estimated completion: August 2018

Interstate 70 at Interstate 675

Project description: Deck replacement

Cost: $5.7 million

Estimated completion: October 2018

Ohio 41 

Project description: Culvert replacements

Cost: $747,487

Estimated completion: September 2018

This year, 88 projects costing $142 million are scheduled to start in District 7 which includes Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery and Shelby counties. In all, ODOT will spend about $2.35 billion on 959 projects across the state, 28 considered major, officials said.
