Crews extinguish fire at Butler County church


A fire at Edgewood Baptist Church in Trenton was quickly extinguished.

Fire crews from Trenton, St. Clair Twp. and Madison Twp. responded to the church at 1010 W. State St. around 7:40 a.m.

Emergency scanner traffic indicated smoke was in the attic, then said the fire was located and snuffed out.

Crews ventilated the building and rolled up hoses just before 8:12 a.m.

There’s no word yet on what may have started the fire.
