The man told police he found Floyd unresponsive in the bathroom and called 911. She was transported to a local hospital by Middletown paramedics.
There was a 5-year-old boy in the house, police said.
While investigating, police said they found a syringe near the bathroom. When others in the house did not know Floyd’s date of birth, police looked inside her purse for identification. They found another syringe and a bag with a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report.
Police also found a pill, more needles and a mirror that had what appeared to be methamphetamine on it.
The 5-year-old’s mother, Johnnetta McGuire, was contacted by police and told to return to the home because police were going to remove the child because it wasn’t “a safe environment,” according to the report.
McGuire told police she had lived in the residence for some time, but she was trying to leave because there was “so much drug use.” She told police she took one of her children with her, but left the other in the house because she didn’t have a car seat for him.
Later, she refused to answer questions and started to scream and curse. She was placed in a police cruiser.
The two children were left in the custody of a relative and Butler County Children Services, according to a report.
McGuire was charged with child endangering and obstructing official business. Her pretrial hearing is set for Nov. 19.
Floyd was charged with drug abuse/methamphetamine, drug abuse/instruments, five warrants and child endangering. She will have her preliminary hearing Wednesday in Middletown Municipal Court, according to records.
