Mikhak is suspected of entering a home in the 4000 block of Danern Drive and shooting the homeowner’s dog early Tuesday morning, Beavercreek police Capt. Chad Lindsey said.
According to the arrest report, officers recovered a handgun Mikhak was in possession of and “it had a fully loaded magazine with 10 rounds” and “the hammer was already cocked.”
Mikhak also had a can of mace and a knife, when police arrested him, the report showed.
Mikhak is in the Greene County Jail awaiting arraignment on an aggravated burglary charge.
The 33-year-old also is the property owner at a home on Ridge View Court, where firefighters responded to a house fire shortly before the burglary on Danern Drive.
Greene County deputies said they are investigating the Ridge View fire as a possible arson. Deputies also are investigating whether Mikhak played a role in the fire, however no charges have been filed, records showed.
Mikhak is in the middle of a divorce from his estranged wife Amanda Elkins, whom he married in January 2017, according to Greene County court records.
A judge granted Mikhak sole occupancy of their home -- the residence on Ridge View, according to court records.
Elkins said the home on Danern Drive is where her father lives.
Elkins said Mikhak went to the bedroom, fired a shot that woke her father and stepmother and demanded to see his son. Elkins said neither she nor her son were at the house.
She said Mikhak shot her father's dog before he left the house.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the Ridge View Court fire.
