The package reported about 7:30 p.m. Monday near Bravo and the Rusty Bucket restaurants caused authorities to keep customers at the restaurants away from their vehicles while the Dayton Bomb Squad assisted Miami Twp. police, said township Capt. John Magill.
Dayton airport police, a K-9 unit and Miamisburg police were also on the scene, which was cleared about 1:20 a.m., Magill said.
The bomb squad, using a robot, "took it off the car and no explosive device was found," Magill said.

A suspicious package prompted Miami Twp. police to block off the parking lots to Bravo and Rusty Bucket Monday night, and to not allow patrons to leave.
Miami Twp. police Sgt. Julie Fiebig said they were dispatched shortly after 7 p.m., and determined the package was suspicious based on its placement so close to cars.
The Dayton Bomb Squad responded along with a Dayton airport police K-9, and determined the package was not harmful.
Restaurant patrons were not allowed to leave for more than three hours.
Fiebig said the incident remains under investigation.

Patrons are now allowed to leave the Rusty Bucket and Bravo restaurants at the Dayton Mall.
Police were called around 7:30 p.m. to the parking lot, initially on a report someone was trying to break into a car. The Dayton Bomb Squad and a police K-9 also responded, but law enforcement has not said why.

A police K-9 from the Dayton Airport Police Department also is on scene, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

Miami Twp. police were first called around 7:30 p.m. to the restaurant lot in the 2800 block of Miamisburg-Centerville Road.
FIRST REPORT
Yellow police tape surrounds the parking lot tonight of the Rusty Bucket restaurant at the Dayton Mall.
One restaurant patron told News Center 7 that no one is allowed to leave, and a Rusty Bucket manager said police have not told them what is going on.

There are multiple Miami Twp. officers on scene.
According to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center, police initially were called to Bravo nearby on a report someone was trying to break into a car.
Patrons of Bravo also were not allowed to leave the restaurant.
