INITIAL REPORT
An Oxford woman was charged with receiving stolen property and petty theft after she allegedly stole a woman’s diaper purse that contained her wallet this morning in the Walmart parking lot, according to Maj. Scott Reeve.
Police were called to 2900 Towne Blvd. where a woman told them that while she was putting her kids in the car, a woman took her bag from the front seat and she also was missing $300.
Police were told the suspect left in a red 2010 Toyota RAV4, which was reported stolen out of Oxford.
The vehicle was found by Middletown police in the 3200 block of Yankee Road and Monica Gregory, 38, was found in the passenger seat. The red bag was returned to the owner, but police didn’t locate the $300, the report said.
Gregory was transported to the Middletown City Jail. Her arraignment is set for 8 a.m. Wednesday in Middletown Municipal Court.
