Police investigate shooting after gunshot victim arrives at Dayton hospital

UPDATE @ 7 p.m. (Sept. 19):

Police were investigating a shooting late Tuesday night after a gunshot victim showed up at Miami Valley Hospital.

The 43-year-old man who arrived by a private car to the hospital has since been discharged. but he was believed to have been shot on Hoover Avenue near Mia Avenue, police said.

Dayton police were investigating a shots fired complaint at 10:20 p.m. around the time of the shooting at the Summit Square apartment complex off Hoover Avenue, according to a police report.

At the complex, the driver of a maroon Chrysler 300 with a dark window tint accelerated through the parking lot, drove over a grassy area and walkways and through bushes until it made it out onto Hoover Avenue, where police lost sight of the vehicle.

It’s not clear whether the victim is cooperating with the police investigation.

Police are investigating a shooting tonight after a gunshot victim showed up at a Dayton hospital.

Miami Valley Hospital reported to police that about 10:15 p.m. a shooting victim was brought to the hospital, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

The shooting was believed to have happened in the area of Mia and Hoover avenues in Dayton, where police are searching for a crime scene.

The victim’s name and condition were not immediately available.
