Troopers seize 3 pounds of marijuana from Michigan driver in Miami County

Troopers reported detecting the odor of burnt marijuana earlier this month after pulling over a car with Michigan plates for a lane-change violation.

The traffic stop was Oct. 1 on I-75 in Miami County, according to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Piqua Post.

A search of the car led troopers to seize two bags containing more than three pounds of hydroponic marijuana and cocaine, which had an approximate street value of $9,500, a patrol spokesman said.

The driver, 43-year-old Mary F. Pezzoni of Howell, Mich., was arrested and booked into the Miami County Jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of criminal tools, all felonies. She was released Oct. 2 after posting bond.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for today, Oct. 9, online Miami County Municipal Court records show.
