Trotwood man pleads not guilty to raping woman at gunpoint in Dayton


UPDATE @ 3:34 p.m. (Oct. 16):

A Trotwood man accused of a raping a woman at gunpoint pleaded not guilty to charges Tuesday.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Darius Walker, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court documents.

If Walker posts bond, he will have an ankle monitoring device.

The 25-year-old is facing rape, kidnapping and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer charges.

INITIAL REPORT:

A 25-year-old Trotwood man is accused of raping a woman at gunpoint last month in Dayton.

Darius E. Walker was indicted Wednesday on charges of rape, kidnapping and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

A 23-year-old woman reported to Dayton police early Sept. 30 that Walker picked her up in the 400 block of Cherry Drive in Dayton and offered to give her a ride to her home in Trotwood.

On the way, he pulled over behind a vacant apartment and allegedly demanded oral sex, which the woman refused, according to an affidavit filed Oct. 2 in Dayton Municipal Court.

According to the affidavit, Walker then pulled out a pistol. Following the reported sexual assault, the woman said Walker dropped her off a few blocks away.

Dayton police attempted to stop Walker’s car and chased it until officers called off the pursuit.

The woman identified Walker as her assailant through a photo spread, court documents stated, and Walker was arrested later that morning at his Trotwood home.

He is held on $250,000 bond in the Montgomery County Jail, where he’s been since his Sept. 30 arrest. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
