At one point, seven people had signaled intentions to replace retiring Judge Nick Kuntz on the Montgomery County Juvenile Court bench. But only three potential candidates turned in nominating petitions with the Board of Elections.

Helen Wallace, a Democrat from Centerville, and two Republicans, C. Ralph Wilcoxson II, of Dayton who sought the position before, and state Rep. Jeff Rezabek of Clayton, met the Wednesday deadline.

If the Board of Elections certifies both the Republicans’ petitions, Rezabek and Wilcoxson will head to a May 8 primary to determine who will appear on the Nov. 6 ballot.
