Renewal levies to fund both safety services were the focus of resolutions approved unanimously this week by Miami Twp. trustees.

The township will be asking voters on Nov. 6 to keep a 5.25-mill police levy and a 3.5-mill fire levy, both of which are set to expire at the end of 2018, according to Miami Twp. Finance Director Clay McCord.

Both levies were approved by voters in the spring of 2013, according to the Montgomery County Board of Elections. The deadline to file issues to appear on the November ballot is Aug. 8, according to the county.

The township has its own police department and shares fire services with the city of Miamisburg through the Miami Valley Fire District.
