Grandview trauma center earns verification status

A team of reviewers experienced in the field of trauma conducted an on-site review and determined that the hospital qualified for verification status, according to a release. Grandview opened its Level III Trauma Center in September 2014 with provisional designation.

Verified trauma centers meet the essential criteria that ensure trauma care capability and institutional performance as outlined by the ACS’ Committee on Trauma.

The verification recognizes the trauma center’s dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.

“In an emergency, time is critical,” Dr. Andrew Archer, medical director of trauma at Grandview Medical Center, said in a release. “This verification reflects our trauma team’s ability to provide excellent and coordinated care in a critical situation right here in Dayton.”

Grandview is the fourth Kettering Health Network hospital to open a trauma center.

Kettering Medical Center is a verified Level II Trauma Center. Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia and Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek are verified Level III Trauma Centers.
