Local governments make payroll with your money, which is why the I-Team has assembled and made available a searchable database of pay for public employees.
As in previous years, workers in the city's electric utility were among the city's highest-paid, though city manager Joshua Smith topped the payroll with a gross compensation of $235,291 -- making him again the highest-paid city manager in the region. Smith was paid $217,676 in 2016.
Shelley Dickstein, city manager of the much-larger city of Dayton, was paid $196,116 last year, by comparison.
