Here’s how to donate your old music instruments to Dayton students

The deadline is July 31 for people to donate musical instruments of all conditions for use by Dayton Public Schools students.

Instruments can be dropped off at any Grismer Tire and Auto location. Those locations can be found at www.discoverclassical.org.

THE PATH FORWARD: The region must rally to fix the Dayton Public Schools

“If your instrument is in good shape, it will go immediately to a DPS musician,” says a release from the school district. “If it needs a little work, it will be repaired or reconditioned. We are also grateful for instruments that may appear to not be salvageable.”

The instrument drive is a partnership involving DPS’ music study program, Grismer, Discover Classical 88.1 and 89.9 FM stations, the Dayton Public Schools Foundation and the Dayton Philharmonic Volunteers Association.
