Wal-Mart ranked highest with a B. Kroger got a C. Target, Trader Joe’s , Whole Foods Market and Costco all got Ds.

Aldi ranked last with a F.

About 40 percent of food in the U.S. is wasted every year, the report stated, and “it’s only by preventing food waste from the start that we can begin to address the environmental footprint and inequalities of our food system.”
