Deli at the Dayton Mall shuts its doors after 13 months

Social media post by McAlister’s Deli suggests a replacement could come next spring

A deli that opened 13 months ago at the Dayton Mall has shut its doors, although a Facebook post by its owner suggests a new location could be coming in the spring.

“We are sorry for any (inconvenience), but this McAlister’s (Deli) is closed,” a sign taped to the restaurant’s entrance advised potential customers today, Oct. 20. “Please visit one of our other locations on Miller Lane or by the Fairfield (Commons) mall.”

The restaurant was located at 2792 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in The Village At Dayton Mall, and it was the most recent location to open among the three Dayton-area locations.

Sidhu operates two other McAlister’s in the region: on Pentagon Boulevard near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, which opened in November 2014; and on Miller Lane in Butler Twp., which opened in August 2015. Sidhu told this news outlet last fall that he was considering adding as many as two more restaurants, possibly in the Kettering and Troy areas.

Atlanta-based McAlister’s operates 400 restaurants in 28 states. Its menu includes sandwiches, soups, salads, Spuds (loaded baked potatoes), desserts and sweet tea. The restaurants also offer catering.
