The 2018 Commonwealth Cup beer competition put on by Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. awarded gold medals to Dayton Beer Company's Beast of Tadmor Village, Upright Smoked Lager, and Midnight Dream, and another three gold medals to Hairless Hare Brewery's Imperial CRV, Barrel Aged Barley Wine and Barrel Aged Cold War.

“It’s a testament to the quality of our brewers and beer,” Peter Hilgeman, founder of Dayton Beer Company, told this news outlet this morning. “Two of those three beers have already won golds this year in another competition, and it really reinforces to our brewers that the beer we make is technically and skillfully well done.”
