Liberty Center launches inaugural Pop Up Market

StartupCincy’s digital entrepreneurs are, for the first time ever, taking their products out of their online shopping carts and straight to the shelves of The Foundry at Liberty Center in Liberty Twp.

Local residents can shop inventory created by builders right here in their own backyard, including Zeus and Blu, Soapy Soap Company, OkeyDokey, GoSun Inc and outdoor winter jackets and apparel company OROS.

The weekend Pop Up Market is located in the Foundry Building near Dick’s Sporting Goods and runs Thursdays to Sundays through Dec. 24 during regular hours of Liberty Center.

Kevin Cedik, Liberty Center’s general manager, said the Liberty Pop Up Market offers “a new and exciting shopping experience” for the mega retail center’s guests while continuing to support local entrepreneurs.

“Liberty Center and its Community Foundation have supported local businesses since we opened in 2015,” Cedik said.

Wendy Lea, CEO of Cintrifuse, said the partnership is “a new challenge” for its digitally native brands, entering the retail scene in the midst of the holiday shopping season.

“Normally found through clicks on the web, these StartupCincy brands now have the opportunity to engage with our community in a retail environment,” Lea said.

Born less than a decade ago from a social media hashtag and used by a group of bootstrapping entrepreneurs to stay connected to the community on Twitter, StartupCincy is now “a community of entrepreneurs, BigCos, educators, investors, students, creatives and enthusiasts with a mission to build a sustainable, tech-based economy for Greater Cincinnati,” according to the group.
