Library hosting free Narcan training

Project DAWN, a community-based overdose education and naloxone distribution program, is offering free one-hour training sessions at three Dayton Metro Library locations in January and February.

Naloxone is the generic name for Narcan, a drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

Each session will include training on recognizing the signs and symptoms of an overdose, distinguishing between different types of overdose, performing rescue breathing, calling emergency services and administering naloxone nasal spray.
