There were 13,629 votes cast in the race. Lipps unofficially got 8,282 and Kroger 5,347.

“We’re certainly humbled,” Lipps said.
He will now compete in November against Democrat Jim Staton of Springboro, who was unopposed in Tuesday’s Democratic primary. Staton got 3,005 Democratic primary votes on Tuesday.
During his freshman term in the legislature, Lipps sponsored several bills to increase transparency in drug pricing.
“We will continue to press for lower pharmacy prices for the consumer,” he said.
Lipps said he has not met Staton yet, but is looking forward to the race in November.
“We’re excited that he wanted to step up,” he said. “Our citizens deserve a choice.”
The 62nd district includes Springboro, Franklin, Carlisle, Waynesville and most of northern and eastern Warren County.
