Abused children in Butler County now have 8 more advocates

PARACHUTE: Butler County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) recently held its 52nd swearing-in ceremony, which marked the completed training of eight new community volunteers.

These community volunteers will provide advocacy for Butler County children who are under the Butler County Juvenile Court’s protection. The children are victims of physical abuse, sexual assault, neglect, domestic violence or abandonment.

The spring CASA training class started May 3 and ended June 7. Eight individuals were sworn in as CASAs on July 19. These eight participants successfully completed the requirements that are outlined by the National CASA Association and will now start speaking up for local abused and neglected children.

Since 1988, PARACHUTE has trained 505 CASA volunteers who have provided a voice for more than 2,000 local children.
